Eleventh day: May 29 In the morning we slept in until 9 a.m., had breakfast (probably the worst on the trip), and left for the beach. We had perfect weather, a nice castle, and the beautiful Mediterranean. What else could you ask for (Probably more time).
Some of us visited the castle, others were just laying on the beach. We left for the mountains at Aosta Valley at exactly 2 p.m. It was a very long drive. But we listened to the Da Vinci code so time went fast. It is a great book, everybody should read it. We found a nice hotel close to a casino in Saint Vincent. In this town nobody speaks English, only French. The Aosta Valley is absolutely beautiful, and has more castles than anywhere else in Italy. I think during the winter season it is a ski heaven. We have heard that at St. Jacques one can cross the border between Italy and Switzerland on skis and visit the Matterhorn (See map below). Some of us definitely have decided to came back here to ski.
